How to Request Time at a Meeting
The Roseway Neighborhood Association (RNA) appreciates hearing diverse voices from organizations and individuals, especially when those voices help our mission to maintain and enhance the livability of our neighborhood by making Roseway a better place to live, work, and play. Presenting at a meeting can be a great way to raise awareness to an issue, ask for neighbors’ help, and/or ask RNA for an endorsement.
RNA typically meets ten times a year, with a one-hour block for our community meeting, followed by time for our board meeting. Both are open to the public. With roughly ten hours of community meeting time per year, RNA needs to ensure that our neighbors’ time is well-spent and that the meeting provides the best value to all those attending.
Recurring meeting times are the second Tuesday of the month, except for August and December. See the Roseway Calendar for more details.
Guidance for Organizations
If you are a member of an organization that would like to present at our community meeting, we ask for the following information, and may follow up asking for more detail:
What is the main message that you'd like Roseway Neighbors to walk away with?
The presenter’s name(s), email, and phone number
The amount of time needed for the presentation, not including Q&A time. This helps us plan our meetings, and helps determine if we want to say yes, depending on the cause.
The earliest and latest date for presenting
Whether you can attend in-person or over Zoom
If you need any accessibility accommodations
Your organization’s name
A link to your organization’s website
A link to your presentation
If a presenter is a resident of the Roseway neighborhood (not required)
If you seek sponsorship for an event, please provide a link to the event details, including start and end date and time, location, and description of the event. Also provide a description of the planned use of funds. Note that we can only sponsor events that are open to the public and impact the Roseway community.
If you seek an endorsement, a link to the statement or letter, and a deadline for endorsement
RNA will check your organization to make sure that it is in good standing, is well-regarded, and is consistent with the mission and values of the neighborhood association.
If your organization is not registered with the State of Oregon Secretary of State and/or you do not have a website, it will be more difficult for RNA to vet your organization and it is less likely that RNA will approve adding your topic to the community meeting’s agenda.
If you seek sponsorship of an event, you must provide links to a website page and/or social media.
Guidance for Residents
If you are a Roseway resident or property owner who would like to raise a specific topic, our Neighborhood Topics section is a good time to bring up your joys and concerns. If you would like more than a couple of minutes of meeting time, please email us and provide the information above.
